The Taw and Torridge Estuary – A Valued Landscape

by aldc on 17 June, 2015

As the first posting on my Councillor website it is quite fitting that I am asking you  to contribute to the  above consultation  which has just gone live.  The  Parish  of Fremington which includes the villages of Bickington , Fremington and Yelland as well as parts of Barnstaple,  all border on the Taw Estuary and are currently faced with a series of  new housing developments being approved which will alter and quite possibly destroy the unique beauty of our natural landscape  for ever. For the Parish Council and myself and my fellow Councillors this is quite probably  the most difficult and the most pressing task that we are faced with , how to preserve  the character of our village communities and the beautiful countryside in which we live from the onslaught of these developments and a bureaucracy that seems slanted  in their favour.

The aim of the consultation is to encourage people to have their say about what is special and what they value about the landscape surrounding the Taw Torridge estuary.

As the results will be used to help inform decisions  as many people as possible are needed to take part.  So as the first thing on visiting my site please take part and encourage your  friends and family to do likewise

The survey can be found here and the deadline for taking part is Friday 3rd July.
